The Inspiron 5000 Is Another Rock Solid Hybrid Laptop From Dell

Dell released a new line of Inspiron 2-in-1s with Windows 10 ideal for students and aspiring entrepreneurs at Computex 2016. The Inspiron 13 5000 and 15 5000 offer stylish designs and solid build quality, available on Dell.com in the United States and China starting at US$ 529.

The 13-inch Inspiron 13 5000 and 15-inch Inspiron 15 5000 both start at $529. Weighing a reasonable 3.5 and 4.6 pounds respectively, these mainstream 2-in-1s are available with premium features such as full HD screens and infrared cameras for using Windows Hello facial login. Built from matte plastic, both laptops are available in only a single, silver color. Dell didn’t immediately release specs for the base, $529 configurations, but we know that the full HD display comes standard.

The Inspiron 5000 2-in-1s embrace a sleek new design and a brilliant wide-angle FHD resolution display and a backlit keyboard option makes working in dim environments more pleasant. The 13-inch’s lightweight and compact size make it ideal for everyday travel, and the 15-inch’s additional screen room makes it well-suited for the working on multiple projects or enjoying movies with friends and family.

There’ll also be a choice of either an Intel Core i7-6500U processor or an i5-6200U. Both are dual-core chips, and both are very good for this sort of device with the low power consumption but sprightly performance.

On the sides, you get three USB 3.0 ports, which is plenty, and also a full-size HDMI port for connecting to your TV or a monitor. There’s also a full-size SD card slot.

Other features include:

  • Powered by Windows 10
  • Available SSDs provide longer battery life, improved shock resistance and quicker responsiveness as compared to conventional rotational HDDs.
  • True-life LED-Backlit Touch Display and up to 16 gigabyte of dual channel DDR4 memory are perfect for multi-taskers who keep several applications open at the same time.
