Wileyfox Has Announced A Trio Of New Budgets Handsets

Wileyfox, British phone manufacturer company, recently announced the latest addition to its smartphone line-up: the Wileyfox Spark, Wileyfox Spark + and Wileyfox Spark X. The Spark is the entry level 5-inch, 720p offering with a rather attractive £89.99 price tag. That feature a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1 gigabyte of RAM, 8 gigabyte of internal storage, microSD slot, 2,200mAh battery, 8 megapixel front camera and 8 megapixel rear camera.

Onto the phone: it is very light, weighing only 136 gram. The screen, an IPS 5-inch display, seems to be bright and responsive, and the buttons are clicky. On the left side are the volume buttons, along with the usual one piece of a plastic in two-button format. On the right is the power button, that feels a little inset into the side of the phone. The top has a headphone jack and the bottom has a microUSB port, which, curiously enough, is over on the right hand side

If you want a bit of extra ‘oomph’, there is the Spark+. It bumps RAM up to 2 gigabyte, and storage to 16 gigabyte. Also, the primary shooter has a more generous 16 megapixel sensor.

Finally, there is the Spark X, which adds a bigger 5.5-inch display on top of all that and a larger 3000mAh battery. However, the resolution, sadly, remains at 720p.

Pre-orders for all three devices in Sandstone White or Black are now live on Wileyfox’s website and various other e-tailers. Amazon will also throw in a free protective case and the free screen replacement insurance for a year.

The basic Spark will start shipping on July and should be joined by the Spark+ later the month. The Spark X can be expected in early August. As for pricing, the Spark units will set you back £89.99, £114.99 and £129.99, respectively.
