Polar Announced Its New M200 Running Wearable

Polar announced its new device – the M200, which is a budget focused running GPS watch, but one complete with optical heart rate, phone notifications, and even structured training options.

In addition to tracking pace and distance when running, the $150 watch doubles as an all-day fitness tracker and can measure steps, distance, calories burned and sleep at night.

It supports notifications from an iPhone or Android smartphone. The M200 will vibrate to alert you to text messages, incoming calls, calendar events and social media notifications. It also includes inactivity alerts to keep you moving throughout the day.

All of the information that the M200 collects throughout the day can be viewed on the Polar Flow application that’s available for both iOS and Android, and you can also access this info through your desktop or laptop through Polar’s website. In addition to being able to view all of your statistics on the Flow app, you will even be able to get personalized tips for improving your runs and also be able to join custom training plans for getting ready to run a 5K, 10K, half-marathon, or full-marathon.

The waterproof Polar M200’s general battery life is not mentioned so far but we do know that you will get six hours of GPS tracking before it is burned out. We also know Polar will be flogging interchangeable wristbands for $19.90 a pop.

The new M200 is launching later this year and, as mentioned costs $150. It comes in red and black as standard, with the other colour options to follow.
