What You Should Know About The Ringtone?

You’re always being asked, “Have you downloaded the new polyphonic ringtone lately?” From here, you can see that the ringtones have already become a part of our daily life, and can you ever imagine the life without the existence of ringtone?
Even thought we’re familiar with the ringtones, but do you know the origin of ringtones? The history first ever cell phone ringtone was created in Finland in 1998, thanks to a Finnish cell phone operator, Radiolinja that started the very first downloadable cell phone ringtone service named Harmonium!
The Harmonium is a unique system, where it contained both tools that enable the users to create monophonic ringtone, and then send it over-the-air via SMS to the cell phone! Since then, the Harmonium is spreading like wild fire to all around the world and has successfully created over billion of dollars each year!
Basically, ringtones can be divided into three types, which as:
The Monophonic ringtone
It is the earliest and the simplest ringtone of all, which is just contained a simple series of musical note at a time. Although it’s hardly to be found nowadays, but it’s still has its own market.
The Polyphonic ringtone
It can contain several notes at a time, and it’s used the sequenced recording method, example like MIDI to make it even more interesting.
True Ringtone
This true ringtone, or also known as “Truetone” is an audio recording, which mostly in MP3 or WMA formats. The truetones have starting to become popular day after day!
