Tunable Glasses for One Billion People in Third World’s Countries!
October 5th 2009 18:05
If you’re living in the dense developed countries, then it’s pretty easy for you to get anything you want, as long as you have the money! Did you know, there are over one billion unfortunate people from the third world’s countries didn’t have the chance to clearly see the objects surrounding them, due to the eyes vision related problems?
In able to give back to the community (maybe the entire world), Joshua Silver, a retired Oxford University physics professor has designed a pair of glasses, which is given name as “Tunable glasses”.
This main concept of the Tunable glasses is the wearer can easily tune the Tunable glasses based on their own need. Silver claimed that he took more than 20 years to design the Tunable glasses (WoW, my salutation to this former Oxford University professor).
Different from other glasses, the tunable glasses have thin sacs of liquid in the center of each lens, and equipped with small syringes that being attached to each arm with a dial for the wearer. This way, it allows the user to add or remove fluid from the lens whenever they want!
Silver has an ambition that he want to give over 1 billion of Tunable glasses by 2020. Of course, he will need the support from the government and public, before he can finalize his dream!
Let’s crossed our fingers and wishing him the best…
