The General Knowledge of Printers That We All Should Know!

Ok, most of us know that printer is one of the important parts of computer, or it also known as the “Computer best buddy!” Hence, it’s very crucial to choose the correct printers that suit your needs!
How well did you know about printers? Do you know what characteristic/features that we should consider, when we’re looking for a best photo printer? Yep, I knew it isn’t an easy task to you, as I’ve been in this situation before…
For your information, printers can be divided into two different groups, which as impact printer and non-impact printer. The impact printer will produce text/images by the tiny wire pins on print head strike the ink ribbon, and it must have physical contact with the papers. While the non-impact printer produces, the text/images on papers without need to strike the paper at all!
The four main types of printers that you should know about it would be:
Inkjet printer
This is the most popular printers for home use, due to its low cost, high quality of output, and reasonably fast.
Color laser printers
These printes are more suitable for office use. It has a very high resolution, super fast print speed, low cost and the printout is not sensitive to water.
Dot-matrix printer
This type of printer was once very popular in 70’s to 80’s. After the invention of inkjet and color laser printer, it started to be replaced by them. However, it is still a very useful helper, especially where printing lots of carbon copy and data logging!
Thermal printers
Thermal printers are mostly being used in cash registers, ATM and point-of-sales terminals before the 21st century. Although this type of printer is durable and easy to use, but the thermal paper is highly sensitive to heat, light or water. Furthermore, the text/images will fade over the time!
Note: Amongst the above printers, only dot-matrix printer is impact printer.
