The Basic Computer Knowledge For Amateurs!

November 7th 2008 08:55
I remembered the day when I owned my very first computer was in 1994, where I got a brand new computer as my 13th birthday gift from my parents. I was completely overjoyed, as I didn’t even expected that I will have a computer as my birthday gift!

The internet world was not as popular as nowadays, where it’s still in a beginning step in 90s. Honestly, I totally have no idea on how to protect and take a good care of my computers. Therefore, I have tried my best to find the computer related sources through the reference books and I spent over four hours per day to learn the basic computer knowledge.

My hard effort was finally paid out, where I had learned many useful computers related knowledge before I finished my junior high. Well, Believe it or not, I was crowned as a “Computer Geek” by my classmates and I was quite happy with it lol

I loved the old adage, “where there is a will, there is a way.” So, it’s nothing we cannot do it, as long as you have the determination and dedication!

For all the computer amateurs, if you think that computer is like a different thing that out of this world, then you can make it becoming simpler with this thought! Try to imagine the computer or laptop as your outer body part; the Central Processing Unit (CPU) as the main brain and Random Access Memory (RAM) as your heart!

So, if your heart is stop pumping blood into your brain, then the doctors will announce you as Death or a vegetative patient. Hence, it’s very important to ensure your heart keeps pumping, so do with your RAM in your computer as well!

There are two types of computer memory, which as volatile and non-volatile forms. The volatile form means temporary, where it’s not a long term memory and it can be gone when it becomes unnecessary for the computer. The non-volatile form is to be known as static memory, where it can be stored and it’s a permanent memory.

Instead of the computer and laptop memory, the memory form can be also existed in some of the electronics gadgets, such as mobile phones, PDAs, MP3 Players, Radios, televisions etc.

I hope, after a simple explanation here, you will pay more attention to the computer memory and never ever tried to neglect it in the future!
